SMU’s legendary swimming and diving program now has a new home fit for its world-class athletes. The facility includes an 8-lane, 50-meter pool with springboard and platform diving, spectator capacity of 800, and state-of-the-art technology for training, timing and scoring. The center accommodates practices, competitions and community participation in aquatics in what is now known as the McMillion-Barr Natatorium. The design respects the Georgian campus style and classical proportions, deftly fashioned to accommodate the unique use, and befits the present and leads the future of east campus. The Robson and Lindley Aquatic Center is also SMU’s first major building east of the main campus, and has achieved LEED Gold certification.
